These boys are the joys of my life! These pictures capture the kind of summer we had. Popsicles, ice cream, water fun, and fishing! They wake up early and they don't stop moving until bed time...and I love it! Owen (6) is going into first grade and Graham (3) is in Nursery School.

Wheelock Reads!
Wheelock Reads is a week-long celebration of literacy and BOOKS! We had so much fun "reading at the beach," completing a school-wide read-a-thon, and meeting our fantastic author, Suzy Kline. We ended the week with a "dress up like your favorite book character " challenge! Check out our amazing characters below!

Pictures, Pictures, Pictures!
Throughout the winter, I have taken SO MANY PICTURES of your children. It is too easy to let them sit on my camera roll (mixed in with pictures of my own children) with no one to be able to enjoy them but me! If you follow me on Twitter, you have hopefully seen the highlights of the many AWESOME things your children do each day. For this blog post, I thought I would try to include as many pictures as I can, dating back to our holiday party.
I thought I would begin with the most special thing our kids did just this past week- they met the Newbery Award Winning author, Matt de la Pena. What a special event!
Dr. Seuss's Birthday!
Last week was Dr. Seuss's Birthday! The kids in Room 205 read one of my favorites, Yurtle the Turtle. Then they participated in a STEM challenge, in which they had to create the tallest "throne" possible for Yurtle, using only bottle caps. It is much harder than it looks! They had to work together to determine their best strategy!
Valentine's Day Celebration
Once again, our room parents planned a very special event that not only included food and games, but also included an element of "giving" and thoughtfulness to others. This party included a heart-making station, in which students could write heart messages that would be sent along to soldiers. We are so lucky to have such thoughtful room parents and kids! Here are some highlights!
Global Play Day
Those of you who are not on Twitter have probably only heard the stories from your kids of our amazing Global Play Day. This "play day" came from a grassroots effort from educators who are in support of children having time for unstructured playtime. Our school participated in this amazing event, and you wouldn't believe how creative your kids were. I can only imagine the forts they create in your homes when they have even more blankets!
Ugly Sweaters
These first pictures are of your children and their amazing "ugly" sweaters! This was the first time I had my students do this activity. Not only did they have a blast with it, but so did I! Thank you for your help with assembling such beautiful "ugly" sweaters!
Holiday Party
Our room parents threw an amazing holiday party for our third graders. Below you will see the fun they had making fleece blankets for local animal shelters and homeless shelters. They also played games, made crafts, and ate lots of yummy foods thanks to so many donations. Check out the pictures below.
Thanks for taking the time to check out your amazing kids!
